This year's National Day celebrations were very special for us: The Circular Classroom was invited by PUB's Sustainable Singapore Gallery in Marina Barrage to design the exhibition "From Uniform to Unity – SG60: Where Education Meets Sustainability for a Greener Singapore". Set up from 9 August to 22 September 2025, the exhibition documented Singapore’s school communities’ contribution to national sustainability goals. We demonstrated how school uniforms can be reimagined as functional products, art pieces, and awareness tools that support the Singapore Green Plan and promote a circular economy. Highlights of the exhibition included SG60 Emblem: “Stitched with Love, Pride & Unity” A collaborative artwork made from pre-loved uniforms by parent volunteers from 97 schools as part of the project "Go Green PSGs" Merlion “Steward for Sustainability” Clad in Changkat Primary School uniforms, symbolising guardianship of Singapore’s green future “Fabric Tales: 60 Stories towards Sustainability” A Peranakan-inspired tapestry created with students and parents from Beatty Secondary School, alongside seniors from Toa Payoh West Community Centre Large-Scale QR Code Installation Woven from repurposed uniforms by Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Secondary School teachers and staff, linking sustainability and technology School Uniforms 2.0: Products made from pre-loved School Uniforms Display of repurposed items from pre-loved school uniforms A big thank you to Anglo-Chinese School (Primary), Changkat Primary School, St Patrick’s School, Victoria School, National Junior College, and Tampines Meridian Junior College who partnered with us on this exhibition and whose repurposed school uniform items were displayed. We were also grateful to ITE College East which donated mannequins to present the school uniforms.
